PhD Project: Improving the performance of single-sided ventilation using airflow guiding components

Nima was born and raised in Iran. Prior to arriving at Cork Institute of Technology (CIT), he earned a master’s Degree in mechanical engineering at Guilan University with a focus on Thermal Comfort. His previous research mainly dealt with evaluating Radiant Cooling Panel system application in a residential built-environment both numerically and analytically. Nima plans to continue his work on passive cooling systems in buildings, and is interested in assessing several low-energy building techniques to be an active participant in Zero-Energy-Building goal in the future.

Nima’s PhD project is “Extending the cooling and Aeration Potential of Single-Sided Ventilation Strategies using a Novel Airflow Guiding Profile for Slotted Architectural Louvres”.
