After being inspired by the fundamentals of energy whilst studying an undergraduate degree in energy physics at the university of Groningen, Jordan went on to gather a more practical perspective by completing a masters in sustainable energy engineering at the university of Nottingham. He then gained experience in dynamic thermal modelling, SAP calculations and part L compliance whilst working for an ME consultancy as a building physics engineer, working on many large projects advising on how to reduce the building’s emission rate. His main research interests lie in the interaction between the built environment and the energy supply system focusing on resilient distribution networks and decarbonised space conditioning systems.
