Sapna graduated with first-class honours in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bristol. She then went on to work in industry, gaining knowledge in building services design, overheating strategies, renewable technology appraisals and zero carbon strategies for local authorities. Her breadth of experience working in building design, bottom-up, and with councils to create top-down change put her in a good position to complete a research project alongside industry sponsors BEIS. Her curiosity and interest in wider sustainability issues such as social value, circular economy and biodiversity allow her to approach engineering problems with a unique mindset.
