Bayan is a doctoral researcher at the school of architecture, building and civil engineering at Loughborough University. She holds a bachelor’s in architectural engineering, and an MSc in Sustainable Buildings and Environments from Newcastle University. Bayan is an experienced architect with an interest in energy efficient housing design which her award-winning thesis: “Designing a Near Autonomous House in Palestine” made it possible. She has expanded her research in energy efficiency and is currently looking into the problem of moisture in UK dwellings. In her 3rd year at ERBE CDT, her research project is about diagnosing root causes of surface condensation and mould growth in homes.
